"For The Wages of Sin is Death,
But the Gift of God is
ETERNAL LIFE
through Christ Jesus our
Lord"
Romans 6:23
1.) The Bible tells us that we earn wages from God by the way
we live our lives.
2.) Sin is the condition that separates man from the Holy
God. It is
characterized by an attitude of active
rebellion or passive
indifference against God's desires, caused by man's desire to go his
own way. Sin is as much an
attitude as it is an action, and the
Bible is very clear that ALL of us have sinned. Not SOME, but
ALL of us. (Romans 3:23 - "For all have sinned and come short of the
glory of God") This sin has caused a
separation between us and
God.
3.) The wages that we earn from God for the sins in our lives
is
death. In the Bible, this death represents both physical and
spiritual
separation from God.
4.) This is one
of the smaller words in the verse, but one of the most
important because it offers hope to all of us. We've been
talking
about "bad news" but God offers us "Good News".
